5th grade social studies students had a chance to participate in the 2025 Peanut Festival Postcard Contest called “From Peanuts to Peace” for the Jimmy Carter National Historical Park. These students have been nominated at the TCES level to have their postcards sent into the contest! We are so excited for these students. Congratulations to Jacayden, Leighana, Ava, AJ, Emsley, Emilee, Claire, McKenna, Alyssa, and, Eli.

Ms. McCoy’s science classes have been learning about how the sun changes its position throughout the day! To prove this, they went outside and traced their shadows! Science is FUN!

Mark your calendars for TCES school picture day on Thursday, September 4. All students will have a picture taken for the yearbook. Packages will be also available to purchase once proofs are sent home.

Introducing our 2025-2026 5th Grade Flag Patrol. These boys and girls have committed to being responsible, taking care of our flag, and raising and lowering the flag for Toombs Central each day. They have been trained on how to respect the flag as well as the proper way to fold it. They are excited to be a part of this special honor.

Today we showed support for one of our own, Ace Smith and his sweet family by wearing RED! We are so thankful to hear an encouraging report on Ace's surgery. We continue to keep them in our thoughts and prayers!

AFTERNOON CAR RIDERS:
School issued tags are needed to pick up students in the afternoon car line. If you have not gotten yours yet, please send a note to your child’s teacher. Beginning next week, the tags MUST be displayed or you will be asked to park and come inside to sign your student out.
Homemade signs/tags are not acceptable.

Mrs. Odom’s 2nd grade class had an awesome first day! They enjoyed some “Jitter Juice” to get rid of all the first day jitters!
