Mrs. McCoy's fourth grade students were the first students to watch and listen to a Scholastic StoryVoice read aloud today. Jerry Pallotta is the author of the Who Would Win series of books. The students enjoyed hearing the book Who Would Win? Rattlesnake vs. Secretary Bird.

Congratulations to these students that completed a level in MyLexia and earned a free ice cream coupon!

LUES Spotlight

The last session of the PASSION FIRST MINDSET is BE AUTHENTIC. Students at this age become more independent, form their own ideas, and question what they believe in. The Passion First: Be Authentic lesson reminds us to be true to ourselves and what we believe in, and to spend time pursuing those things that align with what matters most to us.

Some of the fifth grade students from Lyons Upper Elementary School, Toombs Central Elementary School, and Robert Toombs Christian Academy toured the Lyons Police Station and took a picture for the DARE calendar. Jonathan McGahee is the Toombs County DARE Officer. We appreciate everything he does for our schools!

The CAN FOOD DRIVE is still going on at LUES. Mrs. Williford's class is in the lead with 87 cans. The winning class gets a pizza party.
