Dr. Seuss' Birthday

As some of you may know, March 2nd is Dr. Seuss' birthday.  In honor of his birthday, we annually participate in Read Across America Day.  Read Across America Day is a nationwide reading celebration celebrating Dr. Seuss' birthday and his work as an author.  Across the country, thousands of schools, libraries, and community centers participate by bringing together kids, teens, and books.  Below you will find a list of activities and dress-up days that will be going on in our school during the week of March 1-5.  We would like to encourage every child to participate.

Monday March 1st - Pajama Day:  For a sleepover, slumber party or going to bed.... Come to school in you pajamas instead!

Tuesday, March 2nd - Dress as the Cat in the Hat/Wear Your Favorite Hat:  Wear black and white or red and blue... Stripes or even a red bowtie will do!  Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss!  Hats off to you!

Wednesday, March 3rd - Wacky Clothes/Hair:  Colorful, spikey, or curly cues.... Show up with a super wacky outfit or hair do!

Thursday, March 4th - All-Out Green Day :   Like leaves and grass, frogs and string beans...Come wearing all green everything!

Friday, March 5th - Camouflage/Animal Print Day:  Zebra, leopard, or python if you dare...…  Which kind of animal print or camouflage will you wear?

"The more that you read, the more things you will know.  The more that you learn, the more places you'll go.  Dr. Seuss
